SALARY: $15.00/ HR OPEN TO ONEIDA ENROLLED TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK:32 HOURS PER WEEK
INTERN DUTIES/PROJECTS
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Be comfortable building positive relationships with the community and its' members.
- Assist with facilitation of programming and events in a variety of settings for youth, elders, and other community outreach group
- Assist with the creation and development of activities, crafts, language, or cultural presentations, and more.
- Provide feedback to the Community Programs Coordinator and Manager.
- Assist with tracking of member participation and recruitment for future programing
- Assist with meal preparations when applicable.
- Actively engage with members and participants during events and programs.
- Address participant and member issues promptly and accordingly.
- Proactively offer assistance and be available to answer any questions to our guests.
- Create marketing documents for activities, events, and programs.
- Assist in facilitating an overall positive clientele experience.
- Assure security, confidentiality, quality services and professional standards at all times.
- Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.

INTERN SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/COLLEGE MAJOR
- Major in: Business, education, community, social sciences, or a related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, squat; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Work is generally performed in an office, education, recreation setting with a moderate noise level. Work is occasionally performed outdoors when weather permitting.
- A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule up to 32 hours per week.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to learn the Oneida community, history, and culture.
- Learn to operate various Microsoft programs and software.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently verbally and written.
- Ability to lead and assist group and individual activities.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of sensitivity to community issues and concerns.
- Ability to gain and maintain positive working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
- Must have excellent character, enthusiasm, adaptability, patience, and creativity.
- Ability to work positively in a team setting.
- Desire to work with youth and other community outreach groups.
- Must be willing and able to obtain additional training.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters. (Must sign a confidentiality statement prior to employment.)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
- Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation's Gaming Division.
