SALARY: $20.51 (NEGOTIABLE)

Shift Differential:
Monday-Thursday (6pm to 6am) - $1.00 per hour worked
Friday 4pm to Saturday 4am       - $3.00 per hour worked
Saturday (4am to 4pm)                - $2.00 per hour worked
Saturday (4pm to 4am)                - $3.00 per hour worked 
Sunday 4am to Monday 6am       - $2.00 per hour worked


POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a working supervisor who will provide direction to Custodial employees and ensure the custodial needs of the Gaming Division are met. This position is required to work a flexible schedule to include all shifts, weekends, holidays, and an on-call basis.  


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver excellent customer service and establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers of the Oneida Casino at all times, in all activities. Develop solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as a priority.
  • Supervise staff to include hiring, disciplining, completing annual and probationary evaluations, monitoring time and attendance reports, coordinate the roles and responsibilities for the general motivation of the Custodial Department staff.
  • Develop measurable performance expectations for assigned staff according to departmental goals and objectives.
  • Create and monitor various Custodial work schedules for staff and maintain staffing levels.
  • Plan, schedule and conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.
  • Prioritize and assign duties to staff and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Inspect assigned building/areas for cleanliness, conditions, sanitary standards, and report building repairs.
  • Keep leadership and other departments informed of Custodial activities and projects by attending meetings and/or submitting reports.
  • Develop and schedule preventive Custodial inspections and programs for equipment and buildings for Gaming Division.
  • Develop and maintain a library of service and repair manuals for Custodial equipment.
  • Establish and maintain an inventory of Custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Recommend to Custodial Manager the purchase of equipment and supplies needed with the ability to justify recommendations.
  • Assist the Custodial Manager in short- and long-term planning in relation to major custodial projects.
  • Set up and provide staff training in various safety, custodial topics, and equipment operations.
  • Develop, evaluate, and review Custodial processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist custodians in indoor cleaning duties when needed, including cleaning restrooms, refilling restroom dispensers, empty and transport refuse containers to outside dumpsters, dusting furniture & equipment, vacuuming carpets, dust mop and wet mop floors, etc.
  • Operate personal computer, calculator, copy and fax machine and all other office equipment as requested.
  • Implement and participate in staff development and training programs.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, practices, and equipment used in Custodial.
  • Knowledge of using commercial cleaning equipment and cleaning procedures.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, database, and communication software programs in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner, building respect and confidence.
  • Ability to inform and communicate effectively verbally and in writing; process information effectively to identify and define problems and make objective decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multitasks, and meet strict timelines.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to include all shifts, weekends, holidays, and an on-call basis.
  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks within strict deadlines.
  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters. (Must sign a confidentiality statement prior to employment.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.  
  • High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification; applicants age fifty (50) and older are exempt from this requirement; one (1) year of supervisory experience; three (3) years experience in the use of commercial/institutional equipment and cleaning procedures; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
  • Frequently stand and/or walk a full eight (8) to ten (10) hour shift each day, bend, stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift, push/pull, carry up to ten (10) pounds and lift up to thirty (30) pounds. Repetitive movement of both hands and feet.
  • Occasionally climb heights, reach above shoulder level, lift and carry up to one-hundred (100) pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to travel between various Gaming sites within Gaming Facilities.
  • Work environment may NOT  be smoke, noise, or dust free. Use of protective clothing and/or equipment.
  • A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment and annually thereafter.
