Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising the Oneida Nation's Network and Telecommunications teams. The role includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local/wide area network connections, associated software, and communication links. The role includes assisting in the coordination of problem resolution and determination of network performance issues, network traffic analysis and capacity planning.

The ideal candidate combines a strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to improving processes, enhancing customer satisfaction, and achieving performance targets. 


Responsibilities:

* Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration and project management.
* Participate in the development of Digital Technology strategies in collaboration with the DTS leadership team.
* Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts
* Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network-specific products and services.
* Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, telecommunications, and so on
* Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure
* Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities
* Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation
* Supervise, assign duties to, and coordinate the activities of staff to include evaluations, scheduling, disciplinary actions, hiring, training, orientation, coaching, and employee motivation

* Working technical knowledge of network hardware and software.
* Knowledge of firewalls, extended detection and response systems, and other network security measures

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
