IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
MANAGER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The IT Support Specialist provides end-user support of Information Technology (IT) computers, phones, networks, software applications, a high secure production environment, business critical file movement and hardware via phone, e-mail and onsite. This position is part of a team that supports over one hundred local and remote users, and a high secure production environment. This is a highly audited IT environment in which many audit tasks may be required on a daily, monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. All candidates must pass a background and drug test. Must be able to work well unsupervised and be accountable for work performed. Must be willing to work two months on day shift 8AM - 4:30PM and then switch to a night shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES
90% May include , but are not limited to the following
*Provide first level of support for production environment during night shift. Help support the 24/7 production environment and participate in after hour IT support. Handle day to day accounts add and changes. Insuring records are always updated and ready for audit.
*Provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, or telecommunications problems to meet the needs of end users; develop documentation for existing applications or procedures.
*Installs hardware and peripheral components, such as desktop computer, Laptops, monitors, VOIP phones, keyboards, printers on company premises
*Takes charge of managing hardware and software stock, including LAN and WAN (security backup, etc.)
*Helps team prepare for both internal and external audits. May be required to perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly security audit tasks.
*Provides first level hardware and software maintenance, replacing defective or inadequate software packages and referring major hardware problems to service personnel for correction
10% Provides technical assistance and training to system users
*Trains all PC users in accordance with company training program, instructing them in the use of equipment, software and answers users' inquiries in person and via telephone concerning systems operation
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ENVIRONMENT
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
This person must have a minimum of 2 years experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems, plus a minimum of 1 year experience with Microsoft TCP/IP networking, PC support and administration, PC hardware support, Microsoft Office 2010-2016 and Outlook. Prior experience with 2008/2012/2016 server basic maintenance and Mitel Phones is highly preferred.
