Summary:

At Travis Credit Union (TCU), fostering inclusivity, belonging, and engagement is key to building a strong, motivated workforce. Our Engagement Programs Specialist designs and implements initiatives that cultivate a culture of inclusivity, foster employee morale, and strengthen engagement. They leverage data and analytics to help enable the identification of trends, measure program effectiveness, and develop data-driven strategies that continuously improve the employee experience.  This role plays a critical part in aligning employee engagement efforts with TCU's mission of building lifelong relationships with our members and helping them achieve their financial goals.

Profile:

  • Develops and executes strategies, programs and policies that enhance employee satisfaction retention, and an inclusive work environment promoting collaboration, innovation and high performance.
  • Actively partners with Marketing and Communications in designing and coordinating company internal/external communications around TCU engagement programs.
  • Actively partners with Learning and Organizational Development to organize and lead training sessions that encourage engagement and professional growth.
  • Supports internal Belonging and Inclusion Networks, partnering with diverse stakeholders throughout the organization to amplify underrepresented voices and align with their efforts with TCU's inclusion and engagement goals.
  • Analyzes engagement data using metrics to evaluate engagement levels and identify areas for improvement, with a focus on opportunities for developing new and innovative programs.
  • Coordinates and leads team-building events, company-wide initiatives, and social activities that help build community and morale. Supports virtual, hybrid, and in-person events tailored to employees' diverse needs.
  • Supports the administrative operations of Inclusion and Belonging Department, Inclusion and Belonging Network events, and other organizational engagement needs.
  • Responsible for event or meeting logistics and vendor relationship/management, including venues, transportation, accommodations, catering, and technology.
  • Accountable for engagement annual budget planning, event/program cost projections and adherence to budget(s).
  • In partnership with Total Rewards, designs and implements wellness education programs for employees.
  • Serves as the primary stakeholder in TCU's New Hire Orientation program.
  • Participates in the HR strategic planning process to ensure that activities support the company's strategic goals and priorities.

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff and vendors. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze and interpret data to drive decisions and improve programs.
  • Experience with HR software and tools, particularly those related to employee surveys, engagement tracking.
  • Proficient to advanced PC skills to include MS Office products.
  • Proficient in using analytics tools to uncover patterns in data; ability to leverage such data to develop actionable engagement and inclusion strategies.
  • Detail oriented and exercises discretion and independent judgement/decision-making skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to independently work on assigned projects, from conception to completion, and proven ability to handle a wide variety of activities, workload, and meet timelines with accuracy.
  • Ability to successfully tailor communications according to the audience.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, to collaborate with others and interface with internal and external clients.
  • Solid interpersonal skills, self-confident, and able to listen effectively and communicate influentially.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently to achieve goals with minimal supervision

Reporting and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of related professional experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated advanced expertise in employee experience, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, change management, and/or culture initiatives.
  • Minimum of 5 years working with senior or executive leaders in cross-functional programs.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and metrics to measure the effectiveness of employee engagement and experience initiatives.
  • Certified Diversity Professional (CDP), Certified Employee Engagement Specialist (CEES), or Certified Engagement Practitioner (CEP) preferred.
  • Credit Union experience a plus.

Working Conditions:  Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available and usually sedentary in nature. May include travel to company locations in California.
