The Technology Product Development Tools Administrator will manage, configure, and optimize the development tools used by our Technology Product Software Development teams. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, etc. setting up workflows and managing permissions, and ensuring tools are aligned with our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This position will also be instrumental in working through audit requests, generating management reports, and maintaining consistency across the tools used by teams. The Tools Administrator will have a strong understanding of software development practices, hands-on experience with development tools, and the ability to drive tool effectiveness across multiple teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
What We're Looking For
• Administer, configure, and manage a variety of development tools (including Jira, version control systems, CI/CD tools, etc.).
• Create and manage workflows, permissions, and user access within development tools to ensure seamless integration and efficiency.
• Regularly evaluate and optimize the use of development tools to ensure they align with the needs of the teams and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting tool-related issues, providing timely support to teams using development tools.
• Resolve technical challenges with development tools, ensuring that they are configured correctly and supporting development workflows.
• Collaborate with development teams and leadership to continuously improve the efficiency of development processes, recommending new tools or enhancements to existing tools as needed.
• Ensure tools are optimized to streamline workflows, improve team collaboration, and maximize productivity.
• Assist in preparing for internal or external audits related to development tools, providing necessary reports and documentation as required.
• Ensure that tools are compliant with organizational standards and best practices, and maintain documentation for audits.
• Track and maintain records of tool usage, changes, and permissions for audit purposes.
• Maintain development tools standards documentation. Generate reports on tool usage, system performance, and workflow efficiency to provide insights to management and stakeholders.
• Create Jira dashboards and reports to capture valuable metrics throughout the cycle from ideation through execution.
• Ensure consistency in tool usage and configurations across all teams, promoting best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to development teams on the best practices for using development tools, workflows, and the importance of the SDLC processes.
• Communicate any changes, updates, or new practices to stakeholders and teams in a clear and concise manner.
What You'll Bring
• Proven experience managing development tools such as Jira (or similar) and other SDLC tools.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices and development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
• Experience configuring workflows, permissions, and roles within development tools like Jira, Rally, etc.
• Experience in supporting and troubleshooting development tools and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Familiarity with audit processes and creating compliance reports.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and provide technical guidance to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Education & Experience
• Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Required: 3+ years related IT experience, working with software development tools.
Systems & Technology
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, TFS), CI/CD tools, and other development-related technologies.
• Jira Certification (Jira Software Administrator or similar) is a plus.
• Experience with tool integration (e.g., integrating Jira with other tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
