Summary

The Client Relationship Manager acts as a key point of contact and coordination between institutional retirement plan clients for PearlStreet Investment Management, in matters pertaining to the daily administration and fiduciary management of our client plans. The Client Relationship Manager is also responsible for the advice and education of plan participants on an individual and group basis. This person will primarily work on-site in our branch office with some off-site travel to non-climate controlled warehouse and manufacturing environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Regularly engages with client and their plan participants, as well as other client vendors, such as the plan recordkeeper and ERISA attorney
  • Proactively analyzes and evaluates client needs, and provides recommendations with respect to the issues identified, along with potential strategies for further enhancing client relationship (plan design, financial wellness, effect of regulation changes, industry trends, etc)
  • Researches, investigates, and analyzes client queries and other matters and develops strategic responses as needed and at own judgement
  • Prepares and assists quarterly client plan reviews in conjunction with the Investment Advisors (fiduciary review materials; investment menu review and potential research of investment fund replacement candidates, business activity summaries, and topical points of interest or trends)
  • Provides support to team of advisors in day to day tasks as well as business development opportunities (response to RFP's)
  • Coordinate, develop, and conduct onsite group employee education meetings on a variety of plan and investment related topics
  • Coordinates and conducts one-on-ones meetings for client employees, and provide investment assistance and advice on participant accounts as well as recommended savings rates, rollover help and information regarding investments and retirement planning
  • Fields participant telephone calls and inquires
  • Travel is a requirement of this position and will include locations within driving distance as well as air travel throughout the US, which could result in several consecutive days away from the office.
  • Must be available to work varied and additional hours as needed
  • Other such duties as may be necessary to maximize client relationships and team performance

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution plans, NQDC plans a plus
  • Experience providing investment advice to individuals and conducting group presentations
  • Candidate must be highly organized and be able to adapt to a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Time Management – Managing one's own time and priorities to ensure the meeting of deadlines
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Computers. Programs and Design – Adept in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite including the ability to enter, edit and report data in software/database and the ability to create and maintain excel spreadsheets
  • Oral and Written Expression – The ability to communicate information and ideas in spoken or written form so that others will understand
  • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Active Learning — Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making

Education & Experience 

  • Minimum Required: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent experience required
  • 4+ years financial services experience required
  • Client-facing experience preferred.

Licenses & Credentials

  • Series 7 and 63 Required
  • Series 65 (66) will need to be acquired

Systems & Technology

  • Software: Microsoft Office (especially excel and PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, ACT, fi360, Morningstar, MPI, and Naviplan
