Full time onsite in Sterling and/or Ashburn, VA

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Program Analyst Intern to join our Border Security Team.

In this role you will accomplish program objectives by planning, supporting and implementing process and procedures to support the program, with a focus on time and travel expenses and billing. This group oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing programs and business pursuits.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Accomplishes program objectives, including financial objectives, by supporting the recruiting/hiring process by managing and tracking the end-to-end process as well as work with new candidates directly to bring them on board (includes resume review, scheduling interviews with program leaders, and tracking metrics).
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to processes and procedures; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits, completing reconciliations; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting task order costs, schedules; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Supports the management of subcontractors.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Create and maintain repeatable processes so that our program may operate efficiently. 
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Prepares briefs to senior leadership as required. 
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. 
  • Supports and tailors processes for monitoring project progress for stakeholder awareness. 
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. 
  • Responsible for ensuring contract requirements and subcontractor responsibilities are being accomplished including working on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract.
  • Participates in the development of solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. Often refers to policies, procedures and practices for guidance.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field.
  • Must have strong Excel skills.
  • Must be clearable; Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS public trust requiring US Citizenship. 
  • Ability to receives assignments in the form of objectives and established goals to meet outlined objectives. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have good time management skills and be detailed oriented.
