Description

The Outside Sales Engineer is responsible for driving revenue growth by combining technical expertise with consultative selling. This role involves developing relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their technical requirements, and recommending engineered solutions while managing the full sales cycle in a defined territory.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities

  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers

  • Conduct regular on-site customer visits and product presentations

  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotes, and contracts

Technical & Product Support

  • Understand customer applications and technical requirements

  • Recommend appropriate products, systems, or engineered solutions

  • Collaborate with engineering, applications, and operations teams to design solutions

  • Provide technical presentations, demonstrations, and training

  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams

Account & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts

  • Forecast sales activity and maintain CRM records

  • Manage pricing, negotiations, and closing activities

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve issues proactively

Market & Competitive Awareness

  • Track market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity

  • Provide feedback to product management and leadership

  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)

  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales, field sales, or applications engineering

  • Strong understanding of engineered or technical products

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly

  • Proven ability to work independently in a territory-based role

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively
