Description
At Gibson Engineering we are looking for a Sales Specialist to support the SICK Sensor Technology brand and to grow SICK sales and market share across the entire territory. To accomplish this, the Specialist needs a sales-based mindset and strong technical aptitude. The Specialist needs to capture the mindshare of the salesforce by providing them with the tools and resources to be successful. The Specialist needs to be a self-starter with the innate ability to understand the needs of Gibson Engineering and customers. This person needs to utilize collective experiences, knowledge, and expertise to fulfill those needs.
Responsibilities:
- SICK Liaison - Be the trusted advisor and main point of contact with SICK. Effectively manage communications across the customers, their organization, and SICK. Ensure all parties are engaged and working together.
- Drive Sales by Engaging the Sales Team – Be front and center with the sales team. Join salespeople on customer calls to assist in closing business while also coaching them on how to sell SICK. Provide the salespeople with the tools and resources to be successful.
- Trainer – Responsible for introducing new products to the organization. Utilize the SICK-defined training while also recognizing the gaps within their own organization and taking it upon themselves to ensure that the sales team has the appropriate knowledge to sell the SICK product line.
- Technical Competence - Have a deep understanding of SICK's products, technologies, advantages, and limitations. As the technical expert, partner with the sales team on presales efforts and closing business.
- Business Planning – Work closely with the leadership team and the SICK Channel Manager to build a robust strategy to grow the business. Responsible for the plan and ensuing the KPIs within the plan are met.
- Grow Market Share - Participate in trade shows, lead local events, and engage in the marketing efforts. Utilize all tools at their disposal to grow SICK sales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in technical sales
- Demonstrated knowledge of costing, pricing, sales practices, and techniques
- Knowledge of industrial automation products is preferred
- Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Familiar with technical product applications, demonstrations, and customer relations
