Job Post: Machine Operator Company: Douglas Dynamics Job Overview: The Machine Operator will perform a variety of machine operations, material handling, quality checks, and general maintenance for the company's snowplow and ice control product lines within the Profiling/Fabrication/Rotomold and Machine Shop departments. The operator will communicate with other departments daily and may periodically work overtime and/or alternate shifts to meet production demands. This role is essential in maintaining safety, quality, and delivery standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of equipment and identify and correct problems as they occur.
  • Conduct test cycles and quality audits to maintain accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain safety, quality, and throughput as required.
  • Perform timely upkeep of equipment and programs.
  • Communicate daily with other departments/shifts.
  • Keep work area, tools, materials, and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Work in a safe manner and report unsafe conditions as necessary.
  • Periodically operate a powered industrial truck to assist in material handling.
  • Track use of consumables and record production data daily.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.
  • Operate equipment in assigned business unit, with progression to Operator II and III roles available.

Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. 1-3 years of experience or training preferred.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and perform geometric, algebraic, and trigonometric calculations.
  • Blueprint Reading: Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Technology/Equipment: Computer literacy required.
  • Licenses/Certificates: None required.

$16.50-$17.50
