Inventory Material Planner - SAP


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our client, a multinational consumer electronics company. 


Location: Redmond, WA
Type: Contract - W2
Duration: For a 5-month assignment with possibility of extension.

What you will need for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree with business concentration required with two years minimum experience in inventory material planning OR a minimum of 5years experience in inventory material planning in a manufacturing environment.

  • APICS/ CPIM certification preferred.

  • Preferred SAP, or Oracle-MRP, ECC experience.

  • Must have prior experience with ERP system.

  • Must be well versed in Microsoft office; -high skill level required in Word, Excel, & Access database's.

  • Must be able to develop own database queries and reports.

  • Excellent analytical skills and organizational skills required.

  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must work well independently & as a team player

 

In this role you will:

  • Responsible for the organization and accuracy of the material master information between MDM & SAP systems for all new parts introduced into product group. Maintain SAP material master with exact and up-to-date information regarding description, location, order point, lead-time, obsolescence, and supplier sourcing.

  • Responsible for creating purchase requisitions, on a daily basis, for appropriate vendors through SAP- MRP system, and converting requisitions to purchase orders. Create purchase requisitions for locally sourced materials and provide to the Buyer to place orders with appropriate lead times. Communicate with vendors regarding order status, receipt errors, delivery information, item notes and pricing issues.

  • Analyze order points for items on a consistent basis, reviewing 30,60,90 day volumes. Analyze trends to ensure ordering of correct quantities, maintaining optimum stock levels, and optimizing pricing based on purchase quantities for locally purchased materials.

  • Act as a liaison between vendors, production managers, customer solutions, and warehouse management in order to communicate pertinent information such as delivery dates, product delays, and urgently need support.

  • Monitor open purchase orders against requested due dates of delivery to identify critical low stock situations. Communicate daily, weekly on backorders to improve delivery and reduce backorder delays with vendor. Analyze delivery performance trends for on time performance and backorder issues with each vendor and drive vendor to improve their performance.

  • Coordinate a smooth transition from older product lines to new product lines by depleting old stock through analysis of Excess & Obsolete reports for non-activity items. Continuously evaluate the necessity of orders in an effort to minimize the risk of E&O from occurring. Reviewing inventory in stock over 180 days and the percentage of total stock.

  • Create return purchase orders as necessary for claim returns by obtaining RMA's; and preparing return shipment documents.

  •  Enter Sales Orders from International business group, setting delivery dates based on availability. Create weekly report to communicate current order statuses. Manage all communication with the business center.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports to demonstrate backorder affects upon repairs and to sales customers.
