We are seeking an Administrative Laboratory Manager to work at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD
This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:
- Maintain NHP Census for rhesus monkeys housed in Bldg. 49 CAF & Poolesville.
- Organize and maintain animal study proposals (ASPs) for Lab investigators
- Prepare and processes documentation for personnel actions for new staff, current staff, and departing staff in the LN Branch.
- Maintain laboratory records, reports and files.
- Send reminders to the lab to prepare for annual inspections by ACUC and Safety Committee and triennial AAALAC inspection.
- Serve as liaison between PI and Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC) Coordinator for all administrative tasks for the ASPs – including addition of new personnel and submitting amendments.
- Track Annual and Triennial renewal dates for ASPs.
- Serve as liaison for contracts and acquisitions (COAC) orders
- Assist/Coordinate on POTS orders.
- Prepare drafts of ASPs for Triennial Renewals, incorporating amendments that occurred in the intervening years.
- Request keys, request access to Building 49 (through FAC/CAF as appropriate, request POTS access, assist with FAES course processing)
- Manage completed training data for new staff.
- Organize training for new staff working with Nonhuman Primates (NHPs) and schedule an Animal Exposure Program (AEP) enrollment appointment with Occupational Medical Services (OMS).
- Following completion of training for working with NHPs for new staff, complete the necessary forms to add staff to the protocol, and submit memo with form to ACUC to request individual be added to the protocol(s).
- Maintain Safety Training records for all Staff working with NHPs.
- Maintain & update LN Lab Safety Training Tickler file.
- Maintain & update weekly building 49 Cage Survey with notes to disseminate to the central animal facility (CAF) and all stakeholders.
- Serve as liaison with facility/VMRB for any ASP transfers, pair-housing plans, and move requests.
- Track animals that are transferred to and from ASPs to complete the USDA report each Fiscal Year using the FMP NHP census.
- Prepare and process Purchase orders in POTS
- Coordinate NHP purchases with Dr. Amy Ryan and Budget Officers.
- Prepare travel authorizations and vouchers
- Serve as the backup Timekeeper for the lab.
- Organize room reservations and maintain schedule for LN lab meetings.
- Maintain a safe operating environment in the lab.
- Monitor all laboratory personnel to ensure appropriate laboratory and radiation safety courses and certifications are up to date.
- Ensure that all members of the laboratory are updated with regard to laboratory safety requirements.
- Ensure that staff members remain compliant with annual online refresher trainings and annual tuberculosis (TB) clearances for AEP enrollment.
- Arrange transportation from Poolesville (or other NIH facilities) by coordinating with NIMH vet staff, VMRB, and the CAF.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience and/or related fields
- Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Ordering Supplies, Good organizational skills, Detail-Orientated
- Must be comfortable around NHP; Animal Behavior, Animal Handling: Non-human primates, Animal Handling: Mouse
- Experience with Software such as: Powerpoint, NIH POTS, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Zoom/Videoconferencing, Microsoft Office, Adobe
