Description of Duties
The Research Technologist will perform technical laboratory work including human bio specimen handling with aseptic techniques, to develop and characterize 2D and 3D cultures systems. Characterization will include molecular assays, immunofluoresence, data analysis and record keeping. The Research Technologist utilizes quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze laboratory fluid or tissue samples, operates and caring for laboratory equipment, maintains laboratory supplies and related inventory, and prepares standard media, cultures, reagents, stains and solution. They also participate in and performing assigned phases of scientific research projects, track, store, retrieve and distribute specimens for laboratory analysis, prepare related records, and maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objective, quality assurance programs and safety and compliance standards. The Research Technologist will enhance professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, reading current literature and participating in in-service meetings and workshops and prepares other written documentation as required by the profession and the department; maintains distributes, analyses and project information for required records, reports and statistics as directed. The Research Technologist performs other related duties as assigned. This is a temporary position with opportunity to become permanent.
