The Highlights:
The Assistant Director is a member of Office of Advising and Student Services (OASS) advising team and works collaboratively with the psychology department. They share the psychology advising caseload with two other staff academic advisors in College of Science and Health and works collaboratively with the CSH pre-health advising team. The Assistant Director directly report to the executive director of advising services in the OASS with a dotted line to the psychology department chair.
What You'll Do:
• Provide holistic academic advising for new and continuing undergraduate students majoring and minoring in psychology.
• Manage the Psychology Peer Mentoring Program
• Develop and maintain communication strategy between the psychology department and students.
• Participates regularly in OASS and psychology department meetings and events.
• Consults with the CSH's pre-health advising team and the student success team.
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Student/Personnel Counseling, Higher Education, and/or related field preferred.
- Three to five years of experience based on type of experience and education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and web browser tools.
- Knowledge of science and health related majors is preferred.
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required during peak operation. Participates in Commencement, the CSH Honors Celebration, and new student recruitment events.
- Hybrid position that requires an on campus presence at least three days per week.
