The Highlights: The Graduate Admissions Counselor is an entry-level position reporting to the Associate Director of Graduate Admission. This role is responsible for managing the admissions funnel and driving prospective students from inquiry to enrollment in KGSB's graduate business programs. This individual engages with prospective students, supports recruitment initiatives,
and ensures strong conversion through effective communication and personalized guidance. The position requires a goal-oriented mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
What You'll Do:
- Recruitment and Admission
● Manage the admissions pipeline for assigned graduate business programs and serve as the primary contact for prospective students.
● Provide counseling and guidance to prospective applicants, addressing inquiries related to program offerings, application processes, and graduate education opportunities at KGSB.
● Cultivate relationships with prospective students through multiple channels, including email, phone, text, and both virtual and in-person consultations, ensuring they receive tailored support throughout their decision-making process.
● Maintain expert knowledge of KGSB programs, including admission requirements, deadlines, and differentiators.
● Achieve performance goals each term by tracking key metrics and ensuring consistent follow-up with inquiries and applicants.
● Represent KGSB at on-campus, virtual, and off-site recruiting events including open houses, information sessions, career fairs, and community events.
● Manage a schedule for one-on-one prospective student appointments, including walk-ins and scheduled meetings. - Graduate Application and CRM Management
● Review and evaluate graduate applications, participating actively in the admissions committee to make decisions, if not recommendations, for admission consistent with university policies and priorities.
● Utilize Slate CRM to run reports, manage data queries, and support data-informed decisions.
● Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare and analyze reports and data that inform graduate admission efforts. - Project Management and Professional Development
● Participate in office projects aligned with personal interests and department needs.
● Remain current with trends and best practices in graduate student recruitment and
enrollment management.
● Seek ongoing professional development to enhance admissions counseling and CRM skills.
- A bachelor's degree required.
- Two (2) to (4) years of combined experience in corporate recruiting, project management, event planning, public relations, sales, marketing and business development required. Preference given to candidates who have experience in college admission or in a university setting.
- Measurable project management experience and evidence of progressive responsibility strongly preferred.
- This role will serve as a liaison for multiple academic programs within the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business Candidates who have prior experience in, or knowledge of, the education or communications fields of study or practice, strongly preferred.
