Be a driving force in achieving Edmonton's strategic goals!

As Manager, Corporate Strategy and Performance, you will play a critical role in leading the City's strategic planning and performance management processes. The role reports to the Director, Service and Strategy within the Service Innovation and Performance Branch (SIP). This Branch enhances the City's programs and services through evidence-based decision-making and business performance. Working with six Department Strategy Sections, the SIP branch plays a critical role in implementing the City Plan and ConnectEdmonton.The role involves overseeing the development and implementation of the City's strategic plan, ensuring alignment across all City departments, and monitoring performance to achieve continuous improvement. You will be a key resource for the organization, providing guidance and expertise on corporate standards and practices for performance management.

This position requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on communication, collaboration, and negotiation to effectively engage stakeholders and build consensus. You will lead a team of professionals in strategy, business planning, policy, risk management, performance measurement, and reporting, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

What will you do?

  • Lead a collaborative team and inspire them with purpose and vision to achieve their full potential
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and implementation of the City's Strategy Planning Framework and its tools
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability and transparency across the corporation
  • Monitor and measure corporate performance, providing reporting expertise, and integrating a common performance management system across all departments
  • Ensure transparent and meaningful metrics and targets that deliver value. This information will be utilized to develop data-driven decisions and provide leadership with the tools to manage the organization effectively and drive continuous improvement
  • Focus on the team by building a respectful workplace culture through a values-based influencer approach and working collaboratively
  • Anticipate business opportunities, influence policy, planning and initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability through performance measurement
