About the Role:
The Associate Data Acquisition Specialist researches, acquires, and processes data from various national government sources. The Associate Data Acquisition Specialist ensures the collected data is valid and properly formatted before submitting to data acquisition teams for report writing and site uploads.
What You'll Do:
- Processes and analyzes acquired data files daily, weekly, or monthly from automatic feeds, government websites, and correspondence with personnel at city and county offices
- Monitors a dedicated general mailbox for data file transmissions
- Ensures data formatting is consistent and dates are correct
- Provides content summaries as needed for data submitted to the data acquisition team
- Researches and resolves issues with files due to format changes or incorrect data with city and county government offices
- Collects and scans foreclosure notice data from public record notices in print newspapers and forwards the scanned copies to the data entry team for processing
- Attends weekly foreclosure auctions and documents relevant data related to properties, bids, and final ownership; visits the city or county clerk's office to verify any missed auction dates
- Provides support as needed for report developers and the data acquisition
Who You Are:
- Associate's degree in Library Science or related field
- Prior experience working in an office environment performing clerical tasks and data processing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
- Detailed-oriented, precise, and thorough
- Ability to follow processes and adhere to compliance requirements
- Team oriented, motivated, and quality-focused
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Internally motivated and ability to work independently
- Must be able to travel regionally by land three times per week
Helpful to Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- One (1) year of experience researching public records, FOIA, FOIL, or real estate data
