Job Summary
We are looking for a full-time Workers' Compensation Case Manager (RN) to support our Occupational Health efforts.
The Workers' Compensation Case Manager serves as the primary liaison for injured employees and external temporary workers, managing workers' compensation claims, OSHA recordkeeping, and return-to-work processes. Coordinates with internal teams and external partners to ensure legal compliance, accurate documentation, and effective case management. Supports occupational health initiatives and provides data-driven insights to leadership through regular reporting and collaboration.
Schedule: 6:00am - 2:30pm PST.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary contact for injured employee for information about workers' compensations process and referral to appropriate resources regarding benefits integration. Contact with External Temporary Worker (ETW) in the workplace to gather information for OSHA recordkeeping after report of injury and refer to their employer for direction of care.
- Gather pertinent information for Third Party Administrators (TPA) and/or workers' compensation insurance company for determination of claim, including work history, hazard exposure/incident detail, job descriptions. symptoms and other medical information.
- Determine OSHA recordability of employees and ETW's. Track lost workdays and restricted days. Document in electronic database and/or spreadsheet on routine basis. Collaborates with EHS team for review, analysis and communication of I/I data. Assist with year end OSHA posting requirements.
- Participates in case management review, recordkeeping and incident investigation reviews and other forums that WC data and process are discussed.
- Communicate anticipated date of return to work and expected restrictions with manager and EHS professionals.
- Participate in the occupational ‘Return to Work (RTW)' process and assist Agilent human resources with non-occupational RTW situations as needed. Document modified duty position, complete necessary forms.
- Coordinate effective claims handling by all involved in the workers compensation case (employee, TPA and/or insurance company, personal disability vendor, medical providers, human resources, legal, risk management, workers' compensation broker, etc.)
- Provide quarterly metrics to regional business and EHS management team.
- Participate with claims reviews with TPA and/or insurance company examiners.
- Ensure Agilent obligations are met, working with internal team, TPA and/or insurance company and consultants.
- Communicate regularly with injured workers, managers, TPA and/or insurance company and other representatives as needed.
- Work closely with external partners including TPA and/or insurance company, internal and external partners to ensure workers' compensation legal compliance and Agilent guidelines are endorsed.
- Utilize Agilent specified data bases and computer software for appropriate work assignments as required.
- Where administrative support is not otherwise provided, provide administrative activities to ensure all activities related to occupational and non-occupation injury and illness programs, projects, passthrough vending, etc. progress toward successful outcomes.
- Provide backup coverage for Agilent's Global EHS Occupational Health and Travel Health position on an as needed basis.
- Case Manager maintains current knowledge of workers' compensation case law and statute for assigned states.
- Assist with tracing infectious diseases within the workplace.
Qualifications
Education/Licenses
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid compact/multistate RN license.
- Must hold California single-state RN license, in addition to the compact/multistate license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred.
- Must hold current BLS certification.
- 3-5 years' experience in a Workers Compensation Case Management setting required.
- 2-3 years' experience in an urgent care, emergency department, or occupational health setting preferred.
- COHN required.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making.
- Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.

- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
- Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
- Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds and climb stairs
- Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
This position has an hourly pay rate of $45.00 per hour. Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
