Job Summary

Provide wellness services for tactical athletes (first responders) with an emphasis on cardiovascular health, injury prevention and rehabilitation, nutrition, stress management and overall well-being.

This is a full-time position that will support our our onsite efforts in both Stockton, CA and French Camp, CA. Time will be split between these two locations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, promote and implement a health & fitness program and classes for client.
  • Conduct various fitness screenings including: 12-Lead EKG treadmill testing, blood pressure, body fat, FMS (functional movement assessments), blood pressure, and various other screenings following ACSM guidelines.
  • Perform one-on-one wellness consultations/follow-ups with all employees regarding exercise, injury prevention & rehabilitation, nutrition & weight management, stress management, blood pressure, cholesterol management, and general health education. Provide additional follow-up services to medium to high risk individuals
  • Conduct educational seminars/trainings on various wellness topics
  • Data entry to track program participation on wellness platform
  • Participate and conduct client meetings with executives.


Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in the field of Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field is required (master's degree preferred).
    • Certified ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist or Certified by the American Society of Exercise Physiologists preferred.
    • CPT, CSCS, TSAC-F or similar certifications.
    • 3 years of experience providing wellness and fitness testing services, preferably with first responders.

 

  • Skills and Competencies
    • Fitness testing experience (VO2 Max, Functional Movement Screen etc.) and fitness related certifications (CPR, ACSM, NSCA, CES etc.) are required.
    • Strong health & fitness knowledge and excellent computer skills a must
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
    • Willingness and Ability to pass a thorough background check including polygraph
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

  • Computer Skills
    • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.

 

  • Physical Demands
    • Requires sitting and standing for long periods of time.
    • Some bending and stretching could be required.
    • Some travel required
    • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
    • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
    • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
    • Occasionally may be required to teach various group exercise classes.
    • Ability to left/move up to 20 pounds and climb stairs
    • Ability to kneel for extended periods of time while rendering emergency care and/or CPR.

 

  • Work Environment
    • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
    • The noise level is usually moderate. 
    • Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.

 

The salary range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour. Final compensation offered to the final candidate within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
