To apply to this position and be considered, click the Apply button located above this message and complete the application in full.  Below, you'll find other important information about this position.  The Supervisor Clinical Ophthalmology is responsible for assisting in leading the daily clinical functions in the department. Principal responsibilities include operations, establishing and maintaining clinical standards of care, managing of staff and resources, facilitating research and education and maintaining compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations. The role establishes quality improvement efforts to support the delivery of patient care and knowledge-based decision-making as the framework for superior delivery of care. The Supervisor facilitates communication, coordination, and collaboration regarding identification, planning and provision of high quality, cost-effective care. The Supervisor reports to the Clinic Manager and typically supervises the Ophthalmology clinical staff within the clinic. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Infinitt application including image workflow, archiving, auto routing, and other related activities. Works closely with department leadership to ensure proper operation of image data transfer into the Infinitt system and oversees the Infinitt/Epic data transmission process. This individual serves as the point person for addressing customer concerns, troubleshooting, and optimizing the Infinitt software capabilities. The Supervisor will proactively seek out opportunities for increased efficiency and throughput in the Ophthalmology clinic, and serve as the liaison between physicians, Epic Ambulatory Support, and Infinitt support personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Licensure or registry in area of clinical expertise, required (COA, COT, COMT).

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five (5) years of experience if COA.  Two (2) years of experience if COT.  One (1) year of experience if COMT.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree.

2. Familiarity with PACS and Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Four (4) year of leadership experience.

1. Maintains a thorough understanding of supported applications, related interfaces and ongoing upgrades and enhancements.

2. Provides assistance in problem identification and resolution of daily production problems in a timely manner as defined by department Policy.

3. Investigates vendor application packages and participates in system selections.

4. Implements software solutions to support customer/organizational requirements.

5. Manages projects assigned by manager.

6. Provides training or “Train the Trainer” instruction for new or enhanced software releases and modifications.

7. Monitors current application performance and makes recommendations to manager.

8. Assists Clinic Manager in leading the day-to-day operation and coordination of patient care services.

9. Assists Clinic Manager in leading the clinic to improve patient, provider, and staff satisfaction.

10. Analyzes clinical practice and identifies opportunities to increase quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.

11. Identifies clinical indicators to measure, evaluate and improve care.

12. Assures that patient centered care is provided within Clinic and Ophthalmology Department's established standards.

13. Submits reports and completes regulatory documentation as requested.

14. Assures compliance with applicable ambulatory service standards and clinic accreditations.

15. Initiates the development and revision of policies and procedures specific to the programs of care.

16. Assists in evaluating the department's work force in terms of overall staffing and scheduling.

17. Delegates authority to staff at the appropriate times.

18. Assists in developing staffing models in conjunction with specialty and patient care needs.

19. Engages in ongoing feedback to the effectiveness of staff members in their roles.

20. Initiates timely conflict resolution strategies when dealing with family, patient, staffing, and physician problems.  Refers and documents significant recurring issues to the Clinic Manager.

21. Assists with the preparation of capital budgets.

22. Prepares documentation and participates in evaluation and acquisition of capital equipment and supplies, as requested.

23. Assists the Ophthalmology Clinic Manager in long range planning including staffing projections and development of clinic.
