Description

Responsible for the efficient operation of the Office of Sponsored Projects. Manage all externally sponsored agreements (funded and non-monetary). Develop policies and procedures to ensure successful submissions and compliant operations with an audit-free atmosphere while managing current changing policies. Direct and manage personnel functions including distribution of work assignments, personnel mentoring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions. This also includes managing hiring, promotions, transfers, and maintaining paid time off schedules.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree with ten years of work experience in related field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and track the effectiveness of OSP grant/contract/award management policies and systems; develop and implement strategies and goals to enhance customer service for sponsored research through improved communication, expanded training and education programs for faculty and staff and developing an expanded focus on quality control.
  • Assist VPR in the development and execution of short-term and long-term strategies to further advance research and grow expenditures.Manage Research development contracts. Identify ways to leverage resources and maximize contract value. Outreach with faculty to determine shifting priorities and needs.
  • Organize workshops, boot camps, and development activities across campus. Determine the needs of both incoming and current faculty to tailor development activities. Understand and adjust to changing federal climate and communicate with faculty to aid in their success.
  • Continually produce webinars on relevant topics, including predicting future needs and encouraging broader and more collaborative thinking across campus. Work closely with SRI group to ensure workforce development, reporting and collaborations are progressing and ways to further enhance.
  • Review grant proposals prior to submission, assist schools/departments to assure compliance with solicitation including the Board of Regents Rules and award terms, conditions & responsible for maintaining accurate records of activities including compliance with state, federal, institutional & sponsor's policy guidelines.
  • Meet monthly with OPM and Finance. This ensures we stay current on receivables and do not process agreements for delinquent sponsors. These meetings are also an opportunity to learn about any changes in processes/etc. that may impact us.

Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
