Description
The Practical Training Coordinator will evaluate and process F-1 student requests for curricular practical training (CPT), optional practical training (OPT) and STEM optional practical training (STEM OPT); present workshops and facilitate group chats for students on the immigration regulations, procedures and processes for practical training applications.
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate Degree or High School diploma and 2 years' experience working with college students or adolescents or community groups in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity.
Must be a U.S Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident to meet USCIS eligibility requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate students' eligibility for CPT, OPT and STEM OPT by reviewing submitted documentation from students, departments (if applicable) and academic and immigration information from various data sources.
- Present workshops and facilitate group chats
- Stay current on relevant immigration policies and procedures
- Attend training functions pertaining to practical training
- Collaboration and professional development
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Information
Remote Work Notice:
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in-office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
