The Development Associate reports to the Senior Director of Development and plays an integral team role in planning and implementing the fundraising and development communications that supports the mission of the Callier Center. Working closely with the Executive Director and the entire development team, the Development Associate will have a wide range of responsibilities that contribute across multiple development functions such as donor stewardship, foundation relations, digital and social media communications, and project management.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree; one year administration experience; or any equivalent combination of relevant education, training & experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Two to five years' experience in fundraising or similar role in a higher education/ healthcare setting
Donor communications, website and social media content development experience
Grant writing experience
Raiser's Edge experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a critical part of the development team at the Callier Center, the Development Associate will focus on developing and executing meaningful experiences and relationships between the Callier Center and alumni, donors, patients, and community members across North Texas and the U.S. through:
•North Texas Giving Day, UTD Giving Day, and other annual giving initiatives
•Writing foundation grants
•Weekly, monthly, and annual donor stewardship and thank you cards
•Working in conjunction with Callier Foundation Board on selected projects
•Crafting donor communications via social media, web, email and printed materials
•Maintain Callier Center's website content
•Engaging volunteers for various activities that support the mission of the Callier Center
•Supporting annual projects like the Callier Cares Luncheon and other initiatives led by the development team
The Development Associate must be able to represent the Callier Center in a professional, enthusiastic manner with a customer service and team focus. Strong writing, communication skills, and attention to detail are key success factors for this role. Evening and weekend work required as needs dictate. Some travel between Callier's Dallas and Richardson campuses and a flexible schedule are occasionally required. Other duties as assigned including assisting at several general events throughout the year.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, well-organized, detail oriented, and must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as time management skills. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. The Associate will enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously and be capable of meeting deadlines. Some database experience is required. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge is preferred.
