Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Student Employment Coordinator coordinates the overall development, implementation, daily operation, and evaluation of the Student Employment Program, including both work-study and non-work-study part-time student employment.

Minimum Education and Experience

-Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Education and Experience

Education: Higher Education, Human Resources, or a related field.

Experience: Prior experience in higher education programs, especially those focusing on student employment, student affairs, or career development, is highly desirable. Experience in partnership development and stakeholder engagement.

Skills and Competencies: Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with educational institutions, students, and employers. Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with both existing and new employer partners, both on-campus and off-campus, to expand the Federal Work-Study Program and Student Employment.
  • Assist in expanding and improving the Federal Work-Study Program and Student Employment at UTD.
  • Continually research and recruit off-campus non-profit and government agencies to participate in the UT Dallas Community Work-Study Program.
  • Support employer partners by troubleshooting as needed to facilitate student employment.
  • Plan and execute events for National Student Employment Week at UT Dallas, including celebrations for student workers and the Student Employee of the Year award.
  • Assist in implementing career readiness initiatives into Student Employment.
  • Assist in coordinating student employment and other experiential program events.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining and enhancing effective relationships with part-time employers (both on-campus and off-campus), students, and faculty.
  • Assist in onboarding and completing all hiring paperwork for on-campus student workers as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training and information sessions related to the Student Employment Program for students, faculty, and staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with various UT Dallas stakeholders to ensure that students, employers, and the Student Employment Program comply with Federal, State, and local labor laws in the U.S. and Texas as needed.
  • Build relationships and maintain communication with campus personnel from the Financial Aid, Budget, Payroll, and Human Resources departments.
  • Coordinate job postings and interview schedules for both work-study and non-work-study part-time student employment on campus, including tracking and reporting as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Additional Information

After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
