ACADEMIC SPECIALIST IN GENERAL OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of OB/GYN at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified academic generalist to join our growing Division of Specialists in General OB/GYN. This is an exciting opportunity for an academic generalist with a commitment to excellence in patient care, education and scholarly activity. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CLINICAL: Provide the full scope of general gynecologic and obstetrical care including ambulatory care, deliveries, surgery, complete maternal care including in house call. Co-manage patient care with MFM faculty and CNMs. Robotic experience is not necessary.
  • TEACHING: Faculty participate in resident and medical student education including clinical teaching in the ambulatory clinics, labor and delivery, GYN OR, didactics, simulation activities, and quality improvement/patient safety.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MD or DO degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Will be required to be licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine and credentialed at Tampa General Hospital before commencement of employment.
  • Must be ACOG board certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Positive factors for consideration include but are not limited to excellent record of clinical care with several years of teaching/supervising experience and demonstrated leadership skills. We will also consider new OBGYN graduates with academic career interests. Great communications skills and ability to work in a team- based environment required.

Academic rank is dependent on qualifications and experience.
