Position Summary:   The Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) provides services and support to over 50,000 students, faculty, and staff with the mission of advancing UCI's brilliant future and the vision of becoming world-class campus partners. DFA serves the university as planning partners, problem solvers, and solution providers – striving to make it as easy as possible for people to get the services they need, when they need them. The office of Program Development and Execution (PDE) is proud to support the division, the campus community, and the University of California as a whole. Through campus wide collaboration, we continuously focus on maintaining a safe and attractive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors; ensuring buildings and other infrastructure perform efficiently and are well maintained; and providing professional services in the areas of accounting, purchasing, risk management, safety, and transportation.
  Within the Budget and Finance work group in for the Division of Finance and Administration is responsible for administering and monitoring the financial processes for various departments within the division and providing financial projections based on ongoing analysis of resources. Also responsible for review of ledger data and financial transaction processing. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.

  The expected pay range for this recruitment is $73,900.00 - $94,000.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $73,900.00 - $133,700.00 (Annual Salary).

 

Required:  
  • 3 or more years of experience with financial budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting within a complex organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. 
  • Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments. 
  • Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. 
  • Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. 
  • Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Ability to function as a member of a team. 
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of fund accounting, internal control practices, and their impact on protecting University resources. 
  • Skill in coordinating and compiling information from numerous sources, analyze complex data, see the overall picture, and summarize financial reports for higher level management's use in planning and decision making 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks and set priorities 
  • Ability to use commercial PC-based software including Microsoft Windows and Office Effective, polite, and responsive oral and written communication skills with technical and non-technical people.
     
Preferred:  
  • Knowledge of campus, University, State, and Federal financial policies and procedures. 
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using the campus Data Warehouse for research and reporting purposes. 
  • Skill in reading and comprehension to understand, apply, and explain complex policy.
     
Special Conditions Required:

 

• Hybrid schedule includes both on-site and remote work days  • Ability to work beyond the normal M to F, 8am to 5pm standard work day during busier periods, for special projects, etc.
