University Advancement seeks to strengthen contributions in research, education, and service; accelerate the university's place among globally preeminent research universities; and bring together passions, skills, and creativity to further improve people's lives.   Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Engagement Programs, the Engagement Programs Associate will work to support the implementation and execution of Chancellor's Club programs by managing event logistics, communications, membership renewals, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include event planning, staffing, follow-up, coordinating meetings and programs, donor stewardship, budgeting, metrics tracking, and creating and managing social media content. The incumbent will handle complex tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, performing general administrative duties and supporting the Senior Director as needed. The role requires multitasking, proficiency with social media platforms, and the ability to create engaging content and events. Attendance at evening and weekend events may occasionally be required.

  The expected pay range for this recruitment is $26.92 - $32.56 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $26.92 - $46.36 (Hourly Rate).


 

Required:
  • 2-3 years of alumni, external relations or event experience or similar. 
  • Strong experience with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Knowledge of basic concepts and principles of building and maintaining effective relations with a variety of alumni and other key constituencies. 
  • Organizational skills including skill to meet prescribed deadlines; event planning skills. Written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including tact and political acumen to effectively represent the institution.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Applicable computer skills. 
  • Ability to comfortably use MS Office programs, donor management databases. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects at once. 
  • Ability to be flexible in working independently as well as collaboratively with alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, and volunteers to achieve defined goals. 
  • Uses initiative to organize and follow through with complex tasks to meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent judgment to deal with and disseminate confidential information.


 

Preferred:
  • Basic knowledge of the institution, its mission, vision, goals, achievements, policies, and infrastructure.


 

Special Conditions Required:
  • Must possess a valid California driver license and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program. 
  • May be required to drive on occasion in order to perform the routine or essential job responsibilities for the position. 
  • Weekend duties as needed
