Position Summary:

  The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) is a part of UCI Health and the Susan & Henry College of Health Sciences. The Samueli Institute is working to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-informed treatment modalities, educating the public, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care, and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.   Under supervision of Executive Chef and/or culinary team, the culinary specialist will assist with the preparation and serving of food, purchasing of food, proper food handling, proper knife and equipment handling, proper sanitation, set-up of line in orderly fashion, customer service and cleaning of equipment including pots and pans.  Must be able to travel to offsite locations.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $19.47 - $25.17 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $19.47 - $25.17 (Hourly Rate).

Required:

• Knowledge of food preparation. 
• Knowledge of safe food handling guidelines. 
• Operating equipment correctly, stocking ability. 
• Cleaning and sanitizing. 
• Skill to communicate clearly to a variety of people. 
• Must be able to travel to offsite locations.
• Speak, write, and understand the English language.

  Preferred:

• Bilingual in the Spanish language.
   

Special Conditions Required:
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and special events.
