Position Summary:
  The Office of Student Support at UCI School of Medicine plays an important role in the the recruitment and support of over 400 medical students throughout their academic journey. We ensure that prospective students are welcomed into a supportive environment from their first interaction with our institution by actively engaging with potential applicants to navigate the admissions process. From orientation to graduation, our office offers guidance and resources to assist students in navigating the challenges of medical school. Whether it's academic advising, personal counseling, or wellness initiatives, our team is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive.

 

The Office of Admissions at UCI School of Medicine is seeking an Admissions Specialist to provide essential support in recruiting prospective medical students. In this role, you will oversee various administrative tasks, including managing correspondence, organizing documentation, scheduling interviews, and maintaining precise records of applicant data. Additionally, you will play a key role in providing logistical support for events such as interview days, information sessions, and student events. Serving as the primary contact for prospective students, you will offer guidance and support throughout the application process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment dedicated to student success at UCI School of Medicine.
  Total Compensation:

Required:
  • Administrative Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

 

Preferred:
  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population. 
  • Working knowledge of UC, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective applicants and the public. 
  • Working knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs at UC. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations and other institutions. 
  • Working knowledge of admissions requirements for campus / school / college. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

 

Special Conditions Required:
 
  • Traveling for Outreach Events Outside Standard Working Hours M – F 8am – 5pm work hours) throughout the year for student and outreach events
