Resident I Details
Essential Job Duties:
- Completes clinical rotations in Family Medicine.
- Provides direct patient care to patients under the direct supervision of the Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Maintains office hours to provide health care services for the explicit purpose of seeing patients in a family medicine setting.
- Attends medical education requirements in completion of the program requirements.
- Makes rounds with appropriate physicians as assigned in clinical rotations.
- Completes all the requirements of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Maintains appropriate licensure and continuing education requirements to maintain staff privileges.
- Develops programs to attain personal goals and participates in educational activities to insure further professional growth.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the newborn/infant (birth to 1 year), pediatric child (1-12 years), adolescent (13-16 years), adult (17-64 years) and older adult (greater than 65 years) patient including principles of growth and development over the life span of the patient.
- Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and provides the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
- Is able to understand and update electronic medical records.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed medical degree from an accredited university.
- Must have passed part I of the national board exam.
- Must have completed medical education requirements.
