Director of Finance Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Accountable for the operation of the Union Health financial and accounting systems in a manner that accurately reflects the corporate position and provides management with timely information, analysis, and evaluations.
  • Develop new systems and techniques as appropriate to operations reporting and increase the information base for management decisions. Plans, directs, and coordinates on an efficient and economical basis all financial and management reporting functions.
  • Develops, updates, and implements effective accounting and financial reporting systems and procedures.
  • Provides accurate and timely reports on all business activities to keep management informed and to meet all external reporting requirements.
  • Contributes to the achievement of Union Health objectives through timely, sound, and effective financial counsel to management.
  • Ensures the accuracy of accounting records and reports through effective recording, verification, and processing of data.
  • Ensures effective department operation, both currently and in the future, through the selection, training, development, and motivation of a competent staff.
  • Develops an organizational structure which is sufficiently flexible to meet present and prospective requirements.
  • Evaluates the impact and application of externally imposed requirements and available techniques in the areas of financial and management accounting and reporting, financial control and analysis, budgeting and financial planning, and recommends appropriate courses of action.
  • Directs all essential accounting operational functions in a timely and accurate manner, developing methods geared to providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
  • Assists the VP, Finance with the analysis and appraisal of the financial status of the Union Health and in the preparation of recommendations with respect to future financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and policies.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient and strategic Union Health information.
  • Assures that supervised people are aware of and adhere to the compliance regulations and attend annual training and updates on the compliance regulations.
  • Assures that activities responsible for do not conflict with any federal and state regulations. Additionally, the affected supervisor is responsible for reporting and correcting any such conflicts which arise.
  • Responsible for preparation and filing of tax returns, cost reports etc
  • Oversees Accounting, Accounts Payable, Reimbursement, Charge Master and Managed Care Support Services
  • Responsible for contractual modeling for entire organization.

Qualifications:

  • College graduate with the B.S. degree in Accounting, MBA / CPA preferred.
  • Three plus (3+) years of experience in hospital financial management preferred.
  • Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
  • Experience with Soarian Financials and EPSI Financial software
