Departmental Description
• Our mission is to be a leader in providing quality patient care by promoting excellence and innovation in Endoscopy/OR. We use a multi-disciplinary approach to nursing care The Endoscopy/OR staff presently consists of a Nurse Director, Assistant Director, Clinical Instructor, Office Manager, two Charge Nurses, 26 Registered Nurses that are practicing with a current Texas License, 10 Endoscopy Technicians, two Health Unit Coordinators, and 5 Office Assistants working directly under the Administrator of Surgical Services.
• The Department of Anesthesiology provides medical direction and
coverage with a full time attending and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
• The 4th Floor East Tower OR has 4 rooms. Nursing orientation for the OR uses AORNs Peri-Op 101 and takes up to 6 months, depending on previous experience. Our nurses are trained in all aspects of the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases and work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and ancillary staff.

Job Summary:
• Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Minimum of 1 year acute care experience
• Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
• Must maintain a current BLS, ACLS, & PALS certification from American
Heart Association
• BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
