The Role

The Strategic Procurement department is part of our Shared Services team.  The TrueBlue Shared Services team provides global support to field operations located throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, and Australia.  This role will optimize the performance within our company, focused primarily on cost savings initiatives in the technology and professional services spend area. This includes negotiating with suppliers, leveraging expertise to secure advantageous terms and maintaining strong relationships. This role will work with cross-functional teams to establish optimal pricing structure and ensure competitiveness.

The individual will maintain the standards of excellence set forth in the department, and communicate and solve complex problems with other departments, managers, employees, and third-party suppliers. 

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify strategic sourcing opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for categories assigned.
  • Develop negotiations strategies and drive negotiations in collaboration with stakeholders and others within the enterprise.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers of assigned categories resulting in favorable terms of the contracts to include pricing, payment terms, risk mitigation plans, etc.
  • Make sourcing recommendations and decisions based on financial analysis, cost structure of categories, supplier alignment with company goals and strategies, and supplier position in their industry and marketplace.
  • Lead cross-functional negotiating teams targeting key spend categories.
  • Perform category spend analytics for global spend across the enterprise.
  • Achieve significant cost reductions and ongoing gross margin contribution while maintaining/improving product and service quality and supplier service levels.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.
  • Tracking forecasted versus actual savings and performance indicators for assigned category and be responsible for communicating results against these measures and any potential budget impact(s).
  • Influence operational stakeholders as to their procurement requirements and assure those requirements are included in the category strategy.
  • Understanding of pricing strategies, cost savings analysis, and business case preparation
  • Confident and willing to express contrary opinions, while also being open to divergent opinions without being defensive.  Confident in taking professional risks in the spirit of creating value.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and limited information in making recommendations
  • Developing solid relationships with key suppliers to improve category offerings and negotiate favorable terms.

What you bring:

  • Successful 7 years of experience in a global procurement organization 
  • Bachelor's degree in business related field
  • Experience working with Tier 1 ERP systems (Oracle Cloud preferred) to source and analyze spend data with suppliers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions.
  • Critical thinker with resourcefulness and ability to devise and create and communicate timely solutions to medium-to-complex problems.
  • Strong multi-tasker with ability to prioritize and adapt fast in an ever-changing environment
  • Effectively manage numerous projects at a given time in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently and as part of a team to solve problems given limited resources and time and have a strong work ethic, and adhere to deadlines. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational and project management skills 
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service 
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of management to build partnerships with various departments and suppliers
  • Experience performing cost savings analysis using advanced Excel including V-look ups, pivot tables, and other related software applications

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree 
  • Project Management Certification 
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional

The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $80,400 - $105,000/year. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills, experience, geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer a competitive benefits package.
