POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Associate will perform routine duties primarily dealing with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. It is necessary to maintain a good working relationship with suppliers and operational team members to secure relevant information to be used for financial reporting purposes and information required by national, state, and local laws.
It is also the responsibility of the Accounting Associate not only to exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with team members and suppliers but also to focus on productivity and results.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Scan deposits daily with reconciling prior day scans to the report from the deposit scanner.
Identify and record miscellaneous deposits.
Record daily ACH & wires.
Research unapplied customer deposits in Workday.
Create customer invoices to apply the money or refund the deposit back to the customer.
Provide a daily status report on all unapplied customer deposits to the Corporate Controller and AR Assistant Controller.
Enter miscellaneous AR & AP invoices.
Create and upload supplier invoice EIB spreadsheets in Workday.
Create Suppliers in Workday, review W9s for accurate information.
Maintain Supplier information on the Supplier record in Workday for any changes due to bank account additions/deletions or address changes.
Enter Supplier Contracts and generate installment invoices in Workday (maintenance/contract amendments).
Special projects as needed, including but not limited to
Create Excel based spreadsheets for uploading into Workday.
Ability to manipulate data in Excel for research and decision making (Pivot Tables).
Independently makes decisions/research system issues and appropriately elevating the issue when necessary.
Assist with the Dell Lease Program. Update lease schedules for coding changes and communication with Dell and Transwestern's IT department.
Assist in review and preparation of 1099 reporting.
The ability to communicate with suppliers, customers, and other TW Team members daily by phone and by email.
Pull documents for audits.
Prepare/review certain general ledger account reconciliations.
Prepare property tax return statements for the TW office space.
Record monthly inhouse legal costs.
Perform and/or assume additional duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Preferably an Associates degree or some college courses.
A minimum of 2+ years of AR/AP experience.
Applicable experience in real estate accounting software, preferably with MRI and/or Yardi.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe.
Must be able to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and a demanding, time-sensitive workload with attention to detail.
Strong customer service orientation.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Strong desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to keep information strictly confidential.
