Description

Tom Wood Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Director to lead our Human Resources department. The Senior HR Director will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This individual will collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive initiatives that foster a positive organizational culture and enhance employee engagement and retention. 

The Senior HR Director will provide strategic direction and leadership in all areas of HR including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and HR compliance. This individual will oversee an HR team consisting of approximately 10 members. Qualified candidates will be a subject matter expert in one or more of the aforementioned functional areas, and should view this as a player-coach role. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Note, listed below are the responsibilities of the entire HR department, of which the Senior HR Director maintains oversight

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Recruitment and selection process to attract top talent.
  • Implement best practices for onboarding, orientation, and retention to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
  • Develop strategies for talent development, succession planning, and career progression.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication, trust, and collaboration.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and satisfaction.

Performance Management:

  • Design and implement performance management processes and tools to drive high performance and accountability.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers in conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and providing feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement and recognition.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Design and administer competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure the organization's compensation and benefits offerings remain competitive and compliant with relevant regulations.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training and development needs across the organization and develop initiatives to address them.
  • Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

HR Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging HR trends, laws, and best practices to inform decision-making and mitigate risk.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.

 QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate HR strategies into actionable plans.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
