Schedule: Full time, Days in Physician Practices Management
Main Function:
- The Nurse Leader supports the Nurse Manager in the management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery at assigned practice locations. The incumbent is considered a working leader.
- Serve as a role model for professional nursing and ancillary staff, sharing the responsibility of patient outcomes.
- Under the direction of the RN Manager, and in conjunction with Practice Managers/Clinical Coordinators, the Nurse Leader has responsibility for nursing operations, including trouble shooting issues with other managers, completing evaluations, and assisting with or leading hiring and disciplinary actions at assigned practices, particularly for RN staff.
- Assist in development and implementation of clinical nursing policies and procedures, working with appropriate system personnel to assure clinical operations comply with all Joint Commission and NYS DOH requirements.
- Well versed in the use of the EMR so that he/she can train others.
- Nurse Leader will be able to determine ways via the EMR to address issues and streamline processes.
- Provides leadership and support to the nursing staff by demonstrating the ability to do the following: fosters collegial interdisciplinary and physician relationships utilizing excellent communication skills; serves as a clinical resource and mentor; facilitates unit activity to assure excellence in clinical outcomes and quality measures.

- Highly organized individual able to quickly reprioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Able to evaluate the clinical performance of others, ensuring that appropriate training take place if needed.
- Able to teach staff on electronic systems.
- Experienced in clinical quality management and clinical process improvement.
- Works collaboratively with Nurse Manager and Directors of Practice and Hospitalist Management to develop and sustain a positive culture and a focus on NCQA's Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) certification and other certification standards across the organization.
- Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
- Demonstrates the CARES values at all times.
Qualifications:
- Current NYS licensed Registered Nurse required.
- Current Infection Control Certificate is required.
- Current BSN degree or ability and commitment to attain degree within three years of hire. This is required for the Hospital's Magnet Certification.
- Professionally mature, energetic and creative individual who demonstrates leadership qualities demanded in a rapidly changing health care environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Education and experience:
- A graduate of an approved school of nursing required.
- Minimum of three years recent nursing experience required.
- Evidence of previous leadership experience or career advancement and progressive increase in responsibilities within the health care environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in nursing informatics or EMR use and development.
Position Pay Range: $42.00 - $52.00 /hr
Starting Pay: Based on experience
