Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will be based on the University of Chicago's Hyde Park campus and will have clinical responsibilities (60% FTE) in obstetrics and gynecology, in the area of their specialty or subspecialty, and administrative responsibilities (40% FTE) as Vice Chair of Education. The clinical care will include inpatient and outpatient care in our ambulatory clinics and operating rooms. In the administrative/Vice Chair role, the appointee will be instrumental in shaping and integrating the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers. The appointee will be expected to work collaboratively with the Department Chair, Section Chiefs, institutional leaders in graduate and undergraduate medical education, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of innovative, high-quality education, research, and clinical training for the next generation of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago has a long history of excellence. The appointee will join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners and will have the opportunity to collaborate widely across the Biological Sciences Division (BSD), UChicago Medicine, the Pritzker School of Medicine, and the University of Chicago and its affiliates. The Ob/Gyn Department currently has an ACGME-accredited residency program with approximately eight residents per year, four ACGME-accredited fellowship programs (Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Complex Family Planning), and a Minimally Invasive Gynecology fellowship program.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be eligible or board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology, and 4) have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

We especially welcome applicants with national educational leadership experience through specialty and standard-setting organizations, and knowledge of curricular development, evaluation methodologies, and educational research.

To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago's Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: http://apply.interfolio.com/144386. Applicants must upload a CV including bibliography and cover letter. Review of applications ends when position is filled.
