Agency Wide Duties And Responsibilities: 1. Support the mission, program philosophy and values of The Children's Village. 2. Supports all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies. 3. Support and facilitates positive interaction with others by exhibiting: Individual maturity Respect for others A team-centered approach Maintenance of confidential information An appreciation of a multicultural workplace 4. Communicates appropriate information to other departments in a timely and effective manner. 5. Participates in appropriate professional development programs to attain and maintain competency. 6. Complies with all policies and procedures as defined by the Employee Handbook. Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Assess and identify youth's protective and risk factors, vocational and learning needs, interests, competencies, and match those needs to specific education and employment intervention strategies to assist youth in accomplishing school and employment-related goals utilizing data collection on an ongoing basis. Work with youth on their individualized educational goals focusing on self-sufficiency and identify short-term steps towards reaching these goals. 2. Meet with clients regularly to provide goal-directed employment support, casework and continuous motivation as well as document and track sessions creating case notes. 3. Teach classes and workshops related to career education, job seeking skills and other pre-employment related classes, resumes, development and interviewing skills. 4. Coach youth participants on handling work-related issues and promote self-advocacy. 5. Establish and maintain external collaborations with individuals and businesses to develop employment opportunities for young adults. 6. Increase youth's readiness within academics and employment to prepare for career opportunities. 7. Help youth to explore and identify a career track. Support youth to achieve increased milestones of success towards self-sustainability. 8. Help youth to obtain higher paying, career related employment and income to sustain independent living. 9. Adhere to all Agency and departmental Safety Procedures including reporting any unsafe practices, equipment and environment, and takes an active role in correcting the unsafe practice, equipment or environment through proper notification. 10. Attend team meetings and treatment conferences. 11. Maintaining timely and comprehensive documentation regarding all ILS instruction, resident level of participation and progress. 12. Capable to ensure safety and de-escalate crisis as needed. 13. Understanding and applying My First Place philosophies and data reporting requirements. 14. Other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications: High School Diploma required; some college preferred. Supervisory skills and coordination skills essential. One year of experience working with youth in career development and job placement capacities required. Thorough knowledge of youth with special needs (emotionally handicapped and learning disabled). Ability to work as a member of a Treatment Team. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong overall knowledge in all areas of Independent Living Skills especially job readiness and maintenance. Must be comfortable working in community settings. High level of personal accountability for the quality and impact of work. Ability to implement and document Independent Living Skills instruction to youth ages 17- 25 years of age. Must know basic Word, Excel, Outlook programs. Valid Driver's License required.
