The Department of Anesthesiology at Texas Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas is seeking an exceptional provider to serve as an OB Anesthesiologist, Within the highly respected Department of Anesthesiology.
Set to open in early 2024, our new state of the art full-service hospital in Austin will increase access to quality healthcare for children and women across central Texas. Join the Texas Children's team expanding our standard of care for families across the state. This position is a rare opportunity to participate in the start, growth and expansion of a BRAND-NEW medical facility and campus aimed to serve the growing population of Austin Texas. This is a unique opportunity to build something from the ground up with the support and resources of a nationally ranked Children's Hospital.
Position Highlights:
Join our nationally recognized team of pediatric specialists as we seek to hire a full-time clinical OB Anesthesiologist at our new Austin, Texas location:
- Support quality and safety, lead and maintain clinical excellence and innovation.
- Provide patients with choice in selecting pain management techniques.
- Consultation and cooperation between the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Department of Anesthesiology for high-risk or critically ill patients.
- Pioneering special safety protocols to manage unexpected maternal complications such as hemorrhage or preeclampsia.
- Helping women experience an uncomplicated labor and delivery, including routine management of high-risk pregnancies that require special expertise and resources.
Qualifications:
- Experience working as an OB Anesthesiologist post fellowship training is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the management of a growing group of Anesthesiologists.
- An academic record consistent with appointment as an assistant level or associate professor is desired given TCH's affiliation with Baylor. However, this is NOT required for this position.
- The ideal candidate will have a pioneer-like spirit that is flexible and comfortable with the challenges of starting and ramping up a new facility.
- Applicants must have a Medical School Degree, Residency in Anesthesiology, Fellowship in OB Anesthesiology, and be Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
- The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Texas medical license.
