Summary:

This position provides design and drafting services for structural systems for industrial sector projects. The position will also support mechanical systems, if needed, Experience with AutoCAD software is required. 

Your Role:

  • Operate CAD workstation, plotters, printers, and other associated equipment to support the preparation of designs for industrial sector projects in water, wastewater, process control and material handling.
  • Support preparation of structural drawings and mechanical/piping that includes steel structures and concrete foundations, equipment, building drawings, plumbing and process piping and HVAC drawings. 
  • Individual will be asked to provide preliminary layouts for initial design and sizing and then move through the cycle of the project to completed Issue for construction drawings.
  • In projects that are multi-discipline, the structural designer will need to coordinate their work with other discipline designers to provide the completed Issue for Construction drawing packages.
  • Follow and perform to Tetra Tech QA/QC standards.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have 10 or more years of experience.
  • Must be able to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Must have experience working in a consulting environment.
  • Must have Excel knowledge for preparation of equipment schedules.
  • Must be an independent thinker and be able to assume design assignments with minimal training.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
