The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Site Inspector to our Public Assistance team based in Sarasota, Florida.  This is a project-based role for a candidate in the Sarasota and/or surrounding markets.  The estimated length of this project is 2-3 months.

Your Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking Site Inspector to support work of inspecting structures damaged and document the level of damage caused Hurricane Helene  in Sarasota, Florida. This data will be used to help building officials make a determination on if the property is Substantially Damaged to help comply with local floodplain requirements. The Site Inspectors will provide field-based reviews of damaged properties, describe the current conditions of the site, and support the review of provided documentation. The right candidates will be able to provide skilled and accurate inspection services and be able to capture and acquired data in field and work with office and cloud-based date platforms. This is an exciting career opportunity for to provide hands on assistance to members of the community and help the recovery operations of Florida.

·       Document buildings and site-specific attributes and input into site inspection data collection devices and software platforms.

·       Maintain and track the completion of required site visits and track the progress in a management information system.

·       Coordinate with facility personnel throughout inspection process.

·       Review final site visits inspection reports for accuracy.

·       Follow procedures and maintain communication and focus.

·       Keep Supervisor informed on issues, problems, and resolutions.

·       Provide superior customer services and maintain the ability to listen, facilitate, and negotiate though problems.

·       Maintain understanding of construction practices, building and other facility repair.

·       Drive to and from destinations as assigned.

·       Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

·       Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

·       Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

·       Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

·       Possess effective time management and organizational skills with the capacity to handle pressure daily.

·       Strong analytical skills, bachelor's degree preferred, however, construction, building management, and logistics management experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

·       Prior customer service and site inspection data gathering experience preferred.

·       At least one (2) years of responsible building inspection experience is preferred.

·       FEMA or HUD disaster recovery programs experience is a plus.

·       Strong organization skills required.

·       Expertise of smartphone apps, MS Office, and Data Information System is a requirement.

·       Field experience at the state and/or local level preferred.

·       Must have the ability to drive a personal motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check.
