Your Role:

Tetra Tech, a leading environmental and management consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager that wants to make a difference with their knowledge, organizational skills, and passion in environmental remediation working with federal, state, commercial, and grassroots stakeholders on a wide range of projects. Initially, this position will remotely serve a single large remediation project in Ohio. Upon completion of that project, this position will involve project management opportunities across several large state and federal contracts. This position will consider remote applicants. Job responsibilities will consist of:

  • Serve as a senior technical reviewer.
  • Manage and oversee data review tasks in relation to large scale remediation investigation and implementation.
  • Review analytical data using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Perform tasks across multiple disciplines to bring about successful project completion.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of each project's status and goals.
  • Respond to clients and customers.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for various scopes of work.
  • Generate project deliverables and work products such as comments on documents prepared by other organizations, summaries, and/or data tables, and facilitate document review in accordance with company policies.
  • Participate on project calls with client and partner agencies and responsible party representatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


This is a full-time position for an individual with a strong technical background in environmental site investigation and remediation who is interested in career growth and business development opportunities while managing and supporting a variety of public and private sector environmental projects.  

 

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and previous experience with hazardous waste site investigations and remediation is a must. Previous private or public sector client management and business development success and project management experience a plus.  Applicable experience, training, and certifications with asbestos, lead-based paint, air quality, low-level radioactive waste, GIS, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, or emergency response (e.g., ICS) is preferred.

The qualified candidate must have/be: 

  • Strong background/experience with environmental remediation and thorough understanding of federal regulations and ICS.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Teams/Sharepoint.

The ideal candidate should also have the preferred experience and skills:

  • 8+ years of Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering or related environmental consulting experience.
  • Direct experience should include overseeing projects that include hydrogeological, monitoring/sampling all media, regulatory compliance, and waste management.
  • Practical ability to analyze field and technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and solve problems.
  • Experience working on large-scale, multi-stakeholder environmental projects in a team environment. Agency collaboration experience a plus. 

In addition:

  • This position requires driving on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
  • This position requires passing a criminal background check.

Degree / Certifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related degree from an accredited university is required.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.
  • ICS-100, 200, 700, & 800 training are preferred.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to walk around project sites in all types of terrain and be physically able to carry up to 35 pounds of equipment. Field activities take place in a variety of all weather conditions both hot and cold. You may need to be able to wear a respirator.

Work Environment:

  • Up to 25% travel for site visits and environmental field investigations is required.
  • Mobilization point can be from a home, a Tetra Tech office, or a combination of both.

The Salary Range for this position is $75,000 - $120,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
