Tetra Tech is looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer. You will leverage your extensive years of experience (minimum of 20) to provide environmental noise modeling, animal bioacoustics, air quality modeling and general conformity, and transportation and traffic assessments in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects and other projects requiring air, noise, and traffic analyses. You will provide strategic guidance, conduct in-depth analyses, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, utilizing your expertise in ARCGIS, computer programming, noise and air modeling, and data analysis. This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the clients we service.

Your Role:

•    Support the preparation and review of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Assessments (EA) to ensure NEPA compliance.
•    Conduct and oversee environmental noise modeling studies and evaluate the impact on wildlife, particularly in animal bioacoustics.
•    Perform air quality modeling to assess pollution levels and impacts, ensuring projects meet general conformity requirements under the Clean Air Act.
•    Conduct transportation and traffic assessments to evaluate environmental impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
•    Utilize ARCGIS for spatial analysis and data visualization and implement advanced computer programming techniques for data reduction and analysis.
•    Mentor and supervise junior personnel and technical staff.
•    Coordinate with interdisciplinary project teams and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

•    Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (required).
•    Professional Engineer (PE) credential (required)
•    Minimum of 20 years of professional experience in environmental engineering (required).
•    Extensive experience with NEPA, environmental noise modeling, animal bioacoustics, air quality modeling, and transportation/traffic assessment (required).
•    Experience providing environmental engineering support to Department of Defense customers including the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Air Force (preferred).
•    Proficiency in the effective use of the following noise models (preferred):
o    SARNAM2 
o    BNOISE, 
o    TNM,
o    INM
o    Noisemap
o    SoundPLAN
o    MRNMAP 
•    Proficiency in the effective use of the following dispersion models (preferred).:
o    ACAM, 
o    OCD, 
o    AERMOD 
o    SCREEN3.

The salary range for this position is $125 to $130 per hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
