Description

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Building Enclosure Consultant to join our Enclosures team and LA Office. In this role, you will provide expert consultation on building enclosure design, performance, commissioning, and maintenance for a variety of projects in the construction industry. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the development of high-quality, sustainable, energy-efficient, and durable building enclosures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations and assessments of existing building enclosures to identify potential issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to design and specify building enclosure systems that meet project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Identify needs, review and participate in hygrothermal modeling and analysis to inform design decisions and optimize building performance.
  • Develop technical reports, provide technical reviews of specifications, and drawings to communicate design concepts and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members to support their professional development and growth.
  • Integrate with other Building Science Group and Engineering Services team members on projects, pursuits and research work.
  • Participate in Business Development and proposal scope and fee development.
  • Participate in Enclosure team meetings, financial and staff development.
  • Project management skills development and management of Enclosure and/or other project types.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in building enclosure consulting, with a focus on new construction, renovation, and rehabilitation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of building enclosure systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASTM, AAMA, ASHRAE).
  • Proficiency in hygrothermal modeling software (e.g., WUFI, THERM) and CAD or BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Professional designations, such as RRO (Registered Roof Observer), RWC (Registered Waterproofing Consultant), or PE (Professional Engineer), are preferred.

 

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000

 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the proposed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Glumac's total compensation package for employees.
