PRO-telligent, LLC, a Tetra Tech Company is seeking a Satellite Technician to provide technical support to a Department of State's (DoS) program. Requires a Secret clearance (interim secrets are accepted). The clearance will be upgraded to a final Top Secret upon hire. The technician will travel internationally 15%-35% of the time, depending on world events. When stateside, the satellite tech will work in the office in Springfield, VA. DT/EI/NT/GTC - REACH The Project (Department of State / Bureau of Diplomatic Technology / Enterprise Infrastructure / Network Technologies Office / Global Tactical Communications Division - REACH)

The Position
  • Work with tactical Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSAT)
  • Perform site surveys, satellite acquisition, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of VSATs
  • Test and configure VSATs and other crisis/contingency communications equipment
  • Work with customers to gather communications requirements and provide solutions
  • Work with other DT offices to configure, test and deploy systems
  • Troubleshoot systems both in person in the field and also by phone
  • Move heavy equipment when needed and help maintain accurate inventory

Requirements
  • US Secret Clearance required (interim clearances will be accepted), after you are hired, we will upgrade you to a Top Secret
  • Advanced knowledge of satellite communications, including iDirect satellite modems, ISCP, and ISCP technologies
  • Exposure to multiple IT disciplines, enterprise IT architecture principles and methods sufficient to determine the capabilities and compatibilities of equipment and systems
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and to work independent of supervision when needed
