Project Summary:

PRO-telligent supports the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) to implement a Justice Sector Assistance Program (JSAP) in the West Bank. It focuses on providing technical support, capacity-building and logistical support to key stakeholders in the Palestinian justice sector, including but not limited to law enforcement, the public prosecution, judicial institutions and security agencies.

Position Summary:

The Project Intern will support tasks such as data collection, entering and archiving case files, organizing or auditing recordkeeping systems, as well as working on Success Stories with Component Leads. The Intern will support the JSAP project, the Attorney General's Office, and/or Public Prosecution Offices. The Intern will analyze case statistics and identify areas to improve case backlogs. The Intern will ensure compliance with PRO-telligent and Tetra Tech Duty of Care Standards. The Intern will be supervised by the Deputy Chief of Team and will be based in Ramallah. The internship program will provide practical experience, while building a pipeline of motivated future professionals who can contribute to the country's justice sector. The Internship will be for an expected period of six months for which a daily stipend (allowance) will be paid. The time of performance is up to one year, with the schedule being Monday to Friday, eight hours per day. Interested applicants must submit the following documents/information in English to demonstrate their qualifications: cover letter, curriculum vitae (CV), name and contact information for at least three references, and information on availability/commencement date.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and/or desk research on topics related to case statistics and backlog
  • Collect and present data from national sources.
  • Draft official letter correspondence to project partners and stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, executive summaries, and meeting minutes.
  • Collect statistical data for measuring project performance indicators.
  • Participate in and provide support in the organization of project events and training.
  • Spend part of internship within the project beneficiary's institutions as needed.
  • Generate reports from various databases
  • Collect information required for vetting from project staff, beneficiaries and vendors.
  • Conduct translation and simultaneous interpretation during project meetings and events.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law, IT, computer science, statistics, business administration, communications, English literature and translation, or a related field is required.
  • Familiarity and experience working in the West Bank required.
  • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.
  • Strong creative, adaptability, communication, proactive problem-solving, service-oriented, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously under pressure in a stressful environment and with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds required.
  • Ability to complete U.S. Government vetting required.
  • Fluency in Arabic and proficiency in English required.
