We are currently seeking an experienced co-leader to serve as Offshore Energy Deputy Project Manager to support our renewable energy practices in the Southeast and other locations in the U.S.

 

The Tetra Tech team has significant experience permitting offshore energy infrastructure projects that require authorizations from a multitude of federal, state, and local agencies, including but not limited to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Maritime Administration, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

 

This role is a strategic growth opportunity for the right candidate to use our experience and continue to grow our Southeast team. This individual will assist in the development, strategic direction, and growth of Tetra Tech's offshore wind practice in the Central Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.

 

Your Role:

Project Coordination and Management:

·         Serve as a Deputy Project Manager and Project Manager—including responsibilities to manage technical projects, engage with clients to identify new work opportunities, prepare proposals and cost estimates, establish and formulate technical approaches, and direct project teams.

·         Perform various consulting-related duties supporting the development, analysis, permitting, and financial aspects of onshore and offshore renewable energy development projects.

·         Manage multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget.

·         Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.

·         Manage the permitting process with federal and state authorities, including BOEM, to obtain approvals for project development activities.

·         Direct the preparation of BOEM Site Assessment Plans (SAPs) and Construction and Operations Plans (COPs) to demonstrate project feasibility, safety, and environmental compliance.

·         Ensure alignment of SAPs and COPs with project objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices in offshore wind development.

·         Coordinate and oversee supporting technical studies, such as geophysical and geotechnical surveys, marine mammal monitoring, and avian studies, to assess potential environmental impacts and mitigation measures.

·         Manage data analysis and findings from technical studies to inform project design, risk management strategies, and environmental mitigation measures.

·         Coordinate and manage stakeholder engagements, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local communities, to facilitate transparent communication and address concerns related to project development.

·         Certify compliance with federal and state regulations, permit conditions, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Qualifications:

·         B.S. in Environmental Science/Environmental Management/Marine Science/Engineering or related discipline.

·         Experience with BOEM, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), federal and state permitting, onshore and offshore wind, power generation and transmission, infrastructure, and energy projects.

·         Strong technical background in permitting energy projects, project management, and client/stakeholder relationships.

·         Demonstrated successful project management skills, especially leading multidisciplinary teams on complex energy projects.

·         Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

·         Strong communication skills and presentation skills to convey technical information to client teams and business and financial reports to management teams.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
