The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech, an industry leader in engineering and consulting, is seeking candidates for one full-time Multi-Media Environmental Scientist at NASA Stennis Space Center, MS. These roles will require daily interaction with NASA personnel and on-site support to Tetra Tech Environmental Managers with multi-media environmental compliance.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste, solid waste, POLs/Spills, drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater management.
• Conduct inspections and monitoring of hazardous waste accumulation sites, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Support the development and implementation of spill prevention and response plans for petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POLs).
• Participate in sampling and analysis of drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of required reports, including hazardous waste generator reports, spill reports, and water quality compliance reports.
• Maintain accurate records of environmental compliance activities, including tracking hazardous materials and waste management data.
• Provide technical support and consultation to site personnel regarding environmental compliance issues and best practices.
• Participate in training programs for staff on environmental compliance topics, including hazardous waste management and spill response.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to promote sustainability practices and improve environmental performance.
Qualifications:
• Associate's degree or better in environmental science, engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental compliance or related fields, with knowledge of hazardous waste, solid waste, and water quality management, is required.
• Current HAZWOPER training is preferred.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal environmental regulations related to hazardous waste, drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater management.
• Knowledge of NASA environmental guidelines, systems, and processes is preferred
• Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Must be detail oriented to properly document all environmental compliance activities occurring across the contract.

Language & Communication Skills:.
Candidate must be fluent in the English language – speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension. Accurate report writing is a requirement of this position. Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects.
Other Skills: Instructions:
Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 products. Experience with NASA data management system is preferred.
