Summary:
At Tetra Tech, we offer a range of comprehensive training and development resources with the opportunity to work on various projects across diverse market sectors. We are continually seeking motivated and innovative individuals for our mid-level Environmental Engineering positions, working within 50 miles of one of our local offices.
Mid-level Environmental Engineers tasks can include, preparing technical reports, coordination and oversight of field sampling and field procedures, soil and groundwater investigations, remediation design, environmental compliance support, environmental surveys, waste management, and more as assigned.
Your Role:
- This position will have field and non-field related responsibilities. Field work and travel may include occasional nights and weekends.
- Collection of environmental samples, operation of field equipment, data entry and analysis, document review, environmental assessments, site inspections, etc.
- Assist Senior and Principal Engineers with writing proposals, obtaining bids, financial tracking, invoicing, draft cost estimates and project budgets (as needed).
- Develop sampling plans, health and safety plans, and provide oversight on field investigations.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
- Prepare concise and clear written documentation of project activities in the form of field logs and notes, technical memoranda, and section of technical reports.
- Perform statical analyses and provide data-based site recommendations.
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team of technical resources.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS in Environmental Engineering or closely related engineering discipline required. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
- 5 – 8+ years of technical experience related to environmental services / consulting, with a history of increasing responsibility.
- Previous field experience required, including supervision of investigations, sampling activities, and subcontractor oversight.
- Understanding of environmental services including investigations, data collection and design, environmental assessments, and sampling methods.
- Ability to take thorough notes and preparation of data reports.
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts and principles.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with database development and management, ArcGIS Pro, or AutoCAD is desired.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- Ability to traverse large terrain and lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Ability to travel and perform field work (50% or more of field work required).
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $75,000 to $95,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
